Early Saturday morning on the 400 block of N La Ciénaga Boulevard, an unidentified gunman shot four in West Hollywood. It all started inside the Nice Guy restaurant and lounge, when singer Justin Bieber was hosting an after-party following a concert.
Reports say, allegedly, one of the shooting victims is rapper Kodak Black. However, it’s not clear whether or not Black was involved in the shooting. We understand the gunfire erupted around 2:45 a.m., following a fistfight between several people.
An LAPD spokesperson says the victims emerged from the club, at which point they were struck mid-fight. Officers responded to the scene, finding two of the victims wounded. Two were taken by paramedics and two self-transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The 24-year-old rapper and three others – ages 19 to 60 – are all in stable condition at the hospital.
Law enforcement sources reveal the incident as not gang-related. However, the unknown suspect who fired the weapon did flee the scene immediately.
Additionally, investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Further, in a press release on Saturday afternoon, detectives ask witnesses to come forward to help them identify the gunman.
Video Footage Released
Video footage obtained and posted on TMZ.com, show Kodak Black leaving the restaurant with his entourage. According to the footage, Black and others stop to pose for photos with fans.
What’s more, in the video footage, we see how a group of men standing around a red Ferrari break into a confused fistfight. Surrounded by several paparazzi, the fight spills from the street back onto the sidewalk.
That is interrupted by numerous shots ringing out, sending everyone at the scene running for cover. As media report, police are looking into whether a red Ferrari is connected to the incident where a gunman shot four in West Hollywood.
The rapper, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, has quite an extensive rap sheet. In 2019, he was sentenced to prison for weapons possession. Subsequently, in 2021, former president Donald Trump pardoned the sentencing.
Bieber And Others Quickly Leave Scene
Notably, the party at Nice Guy restaurant followed Bieber’s private concert as part of a Super Bowl weekend party. Otherwise dubbed as the “Homecoming Weekend.” Indeed, the star-studded event included “Hamilton” star Anthony Ramos, NFL Hall-of-Famer Tony Gonzalez, and Jeff Bezos and his girlfriend TV host Lauren Sánchez.
Likewise, Drake, Khloe Kardashian and Tobey Maguire are some other celebrities seen entering the after-party. As expressed by the Hollywood Reporter, Justin Bieber and wife Hailey Baldwin were inside the venue when the shooting took place. Once they learned of the incident, they left the venue.
Representatives for Kodak Black did not respond to comments. Kodak Black has since posted on social media, not about the shooting but instead tweeting about the Super Bowl.
At this time, no arrests have been made and no suspect description is available.
